This year’s series of ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ sees yet another host of famous names braving the wilds of the Australian jungle and yet more scary tasks. Joining a varied bunch of British celebrities are Americans Martina Navratilova and George Takei. Navratilova is the most successful tennis player of all time, having won a record 167 career titles, including 18 grand slam singles finals – 9 of which were at Wimbledon – as well as numerous doubles and mixed doubles titles. Originally born in the former Czechoslovakia, she became a US citizen in 1981, having defected there 6 years earlier at the age of 18. George Takei is most famous for his role as Mr Sulu, the helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek TV series of the 1960s. He has recently been in the news for publicly coming out as being gay and also for his long-running spat with Star Trek co-star, William Shatner.
